The Beat Goes On was written for my friend and drummer, Danny Stahl. We shared the stage together years ago, making music and creating memories that neither of us imagined would one day become so precious.
Like so many friendships, time carried us in different directions. But the rhythm of those years never really left.
When Danny passed away, I wanted to write something that celebrated more than the loss. I wanted to celebrate the joy he brought to every stage, every rehearsal, every laugh, and every life he touched. The song isn't about saying goodbye. It's about recognizing that while a heartbeat may stop, the impact a person leaves behind continues to echo through the people who loved them.
Music has a unique way of keeping people with us. Every time the chorus rises, every time the drums drive the song forward, I'm reminded that some rhythms never truly end.
That's what The Beat Goes On means to me.
It's a celebration of friendship, gratitude, and the belief that the influence of a life well lived continues long after the final note fades.
Because love leaves an echo. And the beat goes on.
